it is hot, but it's supposed to run on 33MHz...that is not too much heat for the chipset...but you can cool it if you use heatsink...although it's not important if you don't overclock the chipset...and the normal PCI chipset go to 37,5MHz without a probelm for the most of the cards or chipsets! also...

if the disabling the USB card gets you faster, did you consider that the PSU is better supllying the MBO & the whole system, and that is why they are working faster!?! also, you might check that by installing brand new PSU with 400 or 450 or even 500W on the BP6 machines... :D if it works, that is t...

as a Mechanical engineer, I do think it's the stupidest thing to do...on -100degC CPUs maybe work...but for sure, you have to turn them ON on normal temp...and then lower the temp gradually, not to have termal shock in component! also, the MBO is the another problem, 'cause the operationg condition ...
