If it wasn't for the safety car, Raikkonen would have had to make a pit stop under green and lost 30 sec. on Schumacher. He then would have finished 10th. Barrachello would have finished second. Button third and on the podium (what a hot girlfriend). Yes, Schumacher is good. On the other hand, with ...

I just got a RX8. I can't get the smile off my face. This is the most powerfull car I have ever had. This car will out excelerate, corner and brake my 85 RX7 racecar (SCCA ITS). Redline is 9k rpm and the revlimiter kicks in @ 9.5K. Now I have to get some track time with this car. I like overclocking...

The new stats page is:

As you can see, Colin & Xabu are still the administrators of the team.

I'm going to hold on the team name for now. The transition page says something about transfering the SETI Classic groups to the BOINC stats page. If that is the case, I will be out of a job as admin ot the BOINC Beta group.

Suggestions for BOINC Team name

Awhile ago, when we started the BOINC Team, Derek suggested we change the team name. They have now made it possible to do this. Derek suggested BP6.COM Users Group (I believe). I'm thinking Team BP6.COM. Any other suggestions? Derek, what do you think.

Also, how about changing the team descripion.

The web site is back up - Update core software to ver3.07

After I got to work this morning, I checked and I was able to access the web site. I didn't check the computer I use for BOINC to see if it downloaded units this morning. I will check later today. Also the required core software is 3.07. You can't download new units to process if you are running a p...

Problems with BOINC?

My queue ran out of work units and was sitting idle. To find out what was going on I went to setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/ap and got no reply. Then went to boinc.ssl.berkeley.edu and was able to access that page but that gives no information. Nor does the boards at SETI@Home. Anybody know anything abo...

I would guess the best answer is to go to the message board and see if the problem has been reported or if the project admins already know about the problem.

If you have SETI Spy correctly set to start SETI Driver, move that shortcut file from \Documents & Settings\"your profile" \Start Menu\Programs\Startup to \Documents & Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup. Then edit the properties of the SETI Spy shortcut so that it starts up minimized. Th...

Remember, this is a Beta test of the software. Bugs will be found and corrected. By running the software you are helping the debug process. If you are looking just at the stats, forget it. The stats generated are for nothing. All the stats will reset to zero when Boinc goes live.

I just had a brain fart. Rather than buying hard drives for each machine, buy the 64/128 meg usb ram drives. Access time (w/ usb 2.0) would be faster than a hd. They would be cheeper than a new hd and if you are using Win98, it should fit. Power requirements and heat should be reduced also. Just a t...

We haven't even turned in a result and we are allready ahead of the US Air Force. Derek: Boinc is in beta and I don't think these results will count when it goes live. At that time, You can create a new team and we all can join in. I don't see any way to change the name of the team. If you want a ch...

Obviously, it isn’t processor speed or FSB.

As you can probably tell by the stats, I have started a new job and have been running SETI on a couple of computers. I found something I think is interesting. IBM Netvista Processor Processor manufacturer: Intel Processor (CPU)2: Intel Pentium 4 Processor internal clock speed2: 2.40GHz Front Side Bu...

Yes the cost for such a machine would be lower initially, but how much would you spend on electricity in the long run. Not just to run the machine, also to cool the house in the summer. In the winter you could just leave the windows open.
