Ive installed win2k about a billion times on my machine, that bp6 over there, and some things that say vp6 at work. FIrst off, make sure you set the cd-rom to boot first by going into the bios, second, as long as everything has power and cables in the correct areas, the system should post, read any ...

Just jam that sucker in, the pin on the hpt366 controller either will bend and take shape, or pierce through the blocked hole on the ide cable, I usually just press firmly and give it a good piercing =D

cd-rom + overclock....read

Has anyone encountered a problem after formating a drive with win2k at installation, then began to copy files with an overclocked bp6? Its weird, but I encounter a problem with "memory management" when the cd-rom cannot read a file, so it asks either to skip or retry, so typically a user would, retr...

Ive been with the bp6 forum a month now, and Ive read people are having problems during boot, only every second power-up works and the machine just goes on abouts its normal operations. I was reading on homies site, that usually multiple boots to make computer boot is due to faulty caps, could be wh...

Intresting, we had a bad VP6 mobo @ work that just froze for no aparent reason, and it did have a few splatted caps on it, so we pitched it!
Next time I know where to ship board with these kind of problems.
Usually I thought when a board burns up, its dead, but not necessarily true?

Well as long as its not the onboard ide channel, I acidentally bought a ultra66 card, that could be used for stability if overclocking the bp6 correct since the onboard is only dma33, which is extremely slow!

And if going to overclock the bp6 board, just purchase a promise ata controller card? even if its a promise ata66/100 cheapie? so thats goi...

Ok here take a look for yourself, I was looking on ebay, heres a not so old celery with the same looking p3 core, well Im pretty sure its the same core, but with less cache, I did own a celeron 1 ghz with 256k cache and it did have a larger core than this one does.
