Other than using one of the POST testers or having competent computer tech look at the mainboard, it doesn't look too good. :(

I've seen those errors on ManDrake 8.x, as well. Not exactly sure why they happen. I saw the errors during each startup. So, you are seeing them after ManDrake has loaded?

I'm going to ask Derek to move this to the Linux Forum. Thanx, Derek!

Initially, it looks like the game does not think that the graphics card has 3D hardware support. Isn't the S3 Savage4 an older graphics card?

533Mhz is the fastest original Celeron you can use in the BP6.

If it is in a AGP slot, the drivers you load will work with the operating system through the AGP subsystem. I'm not sure what you mean by:
It seems that the card is running in PCI mode even though it's an agp card.

You would have to reverse the modifications if you want to use Celeron's.

Neo's will work in dual mode (after they are modified).

You can run 800Mhz to 850Mhz Pentium III FC-PGA CPU's with the modifications.

Yes, if your system is not stable don't try the modifications.

eVGA Geforce4

Got a new nVidia graghics card, yesterday.

eVGA e-Geforce4 MX 440 SE 64MB SDR AGP4X TV-OUT

Works great with UT2003! $59.95 (US)! This is on my system that is overclocked to 110Mhz FSB. No crashes during UT2003. We'll see how stable the system is. :?

Not sure what I am going to do with TV-OUT.

On the page, if you search for dual, you will see the under Features; IO/APIC support in future versions. And across from that under Benefits you will see; Dual processing support.

Looks like Dual support may be in the future...

If you want good 3D rendering speeds, you may want to consider using dual Celeron 300A or 366 CPU's, as they will overclock better than higher MHz rated Celerons. You can get 100-110Mhz on the FSB. Some BP6ers are using a single Coppermine Pentium III FC-PGA CPU with the PowerLeap Neo S370 adapter. ...

You will have to do the mainboard modifications if you want to run Pentium III CPU's. If you use the PowerLeap Neo S370 adapter as a part of the modifications, the adapter and the mainboard have to be modified.

How much power do I need for a dual system?

How many Watts should my power supply be rated at? If your running duals with a few PCI cards, one or two hard drive(s), 2D graphics card; 250W-300W will probably do. If the dual system is loaded, all PCI slots filled, high-end graphics card, SCSI controller with several devices, HPT366 controller ...

The BP6 manual says the HPT366 controller is intented for high-speed mass-storage devices, like hard drives. I would put your CDROMs on the standard IDE controller. As to DMA setting, usually these settings are under the Properties of the device in Device Manager.
