BTW, I am using FireFox for the first time as my main browser. So far I don't dislike it. I noticed my mouse wheel doesn't scroll the page though and most objects are loading slower then IE6. Have you had any problems with CPU going to 100% when you have lots of tabs open, and everything grinds to ...

I bought my BP6 in 1999.

They sent me two by accident, but I sent one back. I'm too honest for my own good.

The one I kept is still working like a champ.

You won't get there so its irrelavant. I am not aware of anyone who was ever able to run at 124.
Back in the day, Holodeck2 got his 366s running at 133Mhz FSB using watercooling, peltiers and a lot of ducting. He hasn't been around here for some time.

If your into pro audio work, there are really only two OS options: Windows and MacOS. This has got me really excited: http://blogs.msdn.com/larryosterman/archive/2005/09/19/471346.aspx Probably going to have to dig deep and get some new hardware to run it all on. I should stress, though, that they'l...

I can only really see avid gamers upgrading in any significant number. It looks like MS will be forcing users towards Vista by making future DirectX upgrades Vista only. As a music producer, there are some interesting developments to the Windows audio stack and user mode API that I keep meaning to l...

Klik, Klik, Klik: Please note the first word in my post: "Maybe".

I haven't tried Vista RTM, and I take it you haven't either. Until we have, then this is all speculation at best.

OK?

Maybe not so, actually. OSNews have tested Vista RTM (build 6000) on a PentiumM 1.73Ghz with 512MB RAM, and report that this version is a good deal faster than previous builds.

See the article here.

Not quite sure what you mean. Are you talking about MS's recommendations? The tests Ars did were independent and regardless of "official" requirements.

Running Vista On Older Hardware

Ars Technica have published an article detailing their experiences of running Vista RC2 on older hardware. Click here Although they don't use anything as old as the BP6, it will give you some idea of what to expect. Most notably they say that running Vista on less than 1GB system RAM was not the mos...

Cooler Master Eclipse

Club Overclocker reviews a very impressive looking cooler here . As you can see just from the specifications, this is a rather beefy cooler. When I first opened up the box delivered straight from Cooler Master, I had high hopes for some uber clocks immediately. In the white corner we have The Newcom...

Have a good look around the forum. There's loads of good info here - the sum total of many knowledgeable BP6 owners...

The third temperature reading is not the BX northbridge's temperature.

The sensor is actually located inbetween the two groups of four capacitors above the AGP slot. It is labelled RT3.

That's what I used to do, before I changed my case to one which doesn't have an HDD LED.

On a related note, if you don't have the chassis LED, this is a good little taskbar HDD activity indicator for Windows.
