purrkur, those big blues sure make me drool. Yeah, they are nice. They may not be the best coolers on the market but they do a decent job plus they are quiet which is what I was looking for. I guess going for an all-copper solution would be better but I couldn't find any on the Swedish market that ...

What a fun post to read. People from different areas, different ages and different backgrounds discussing a topic that everybody has an opinion on in a civilised manner! Good stuff... Kuun, FWIW, I got some experience in Honda Civics since I have raced them (illegal street racing) amongst other GTi'...

No it isn't a bios problem. The bios sees the drive at full capacity just fine. It is a brand new board. This is purely a Windows problem in my particular case. After SP1 is installed Windows has no problem with it either. It's just the journey getting there that is tough. In his particular case it...

Billl: Yep, of course it becomes a Windows problem now doesn't it if Windows uses the information supplied by BIOS to configure the size of the hard drives now doesn't it? ;) This issue doesn't affect Linux because Linux doesn't care about BIOS values after it has booted up. Well, it could be a Linu...

Tjena Puppas! Have you tried reducing the speed of your CPU's and doing the same in order to make sure if that isn't the problem? Whenever I experience weird stability problems on an overclocked system, my first action is always to reduce the cpu speed to see if it has any positive effect. Especiall...

Vultura: I went from 2 400MHz Celerons (overclocked to 466MHz) to 2 533MHz Celerons overclocked to 576MHz. I used the standard Intel coolers that came with the 400MHz and I can tell you that the difference is temperature between the 400(466) and 533(576) MHz processors was quite a step (especially u...

Hi oli (that doesn't happen to be the Icelandic name "'Óli" now does it?) If you are going to run Linux on that drive then you should be safe since Linux doesn't care how BIOS thinks how large it should be after boot. I ran a 40 GB drive in a Pentium Pro machine that had a BIOS induced 8.4 GB limit ...

Are you sure that your Geforce is working? Have you tried it in another computer as well? Also, you don't really say what happens. Does your computer appear to boot or does it hang? You could try running both your Geforce and the Radeon in the machine at the same time to see what happens (with your ...

This is what the previous owner of the drive said he did. Tell me what you think "I had the same problem and it took me days to find out what I am about to tell you. You have to have a recent version of windows. I know on XP you must have SP1 or it only shows as 131GB. This is a problem with window...

Zalmans are actually high quality PSU's and they make their own. I got a 400 W Zalman in my Athlon machine and it is whisper quiet and delivers extremely stable voltages. I would not recommend putting the 12V output through a regulator to get a 5V output that is supposed to deliver high current. The...

1. Replace the cable that you got running to the CD ROM. 2. Place the CD ROM on another IDE channel (not the HPT366 since they were not made for CD ROMs) 3. Can it be specific to your CD? I have had that happen to me. Try booting from another CD if you have one lying around. If you got broadband, do...

American Football analysis by a Blonde
A guy took his blonde girlfriend to the Super Bowl. They had great seats right behind their team's bench ... After the game, he asked her how she liked the experience. "Oh, I really liked it," she replied, "especially the tight pants and all the big muscles, but I just couldn't understand why they w...

I don't want to complain about anything either, it was just so strange that yesterday it just seemed slow down to a crawl. I am used to the long times it takes to post and that is fine with me but even reading stuff yesterday was almost impossible. It is better now though so it seems to vary a bit. ...

New Nvidia drivers out for Linux
Version 6106. I have checked them with a TNT2 M64 (32 MB), Geforce2 MX (32 MB) and Geforce4 Ti 4200 (128MB) and they work just fine. Speed is just about the same, maybe a little faster (speed checked with glxgears). Nvidia have also added a program to the drivers, called "nvidia-settings" where you ...

bp6.com slowing down??
The forums on bp6.com haven't been the fastest in the world but reading the forums this morning was an exercise in frustration. It was almost like my xDSL connection was turned into a 56kbit modem and sometimes the pages wouldn't respond at all. Does anybody else the same problem? Derek, I assume th...
