NEW PIC"S, jaybird's "new" PIII BP6 board mod

Sorry it took so long, wife had "other" ideas for use of my time  . Go to members photo gallaries, jaybird, there you will find 12 pics of both the old and the new modded boards. The first 4 are new (see text notes), the remainder are of my first PIII conversion that ran for over 3 1/2 years. ...

I don't know which BP6 BIOS you are running but, the most stable for me has been the BP6 RU BIOS with the HPT 1.28 BIOS and the HPT 1.25 drivers.

I can't seem to be able to download ANYTHING from the BIOS tab here at BP6.COM at this time :?:

Hope our "moderator" see this!

Did anyone pan down or look through the entire ad at Upgradeware?

It seems that they also have a PIII socket 370 adapter that is (according to them) SMP enabled.

Has anyone had any experience with these people?

Hi guys! Just finished the EC10 and vtt reg mods as well as the "stabilization of Vcc 2.5". The other thing I did not do was ground the - side of the cap tied in with the regulator mod to the - side of one of the cap located close to the old regulator. I'v found that just by heating the caps they so...

It is 1:23 PM here in Wisconsin and I have just completed the remainder of the "stabilization of Vcc 2.5" . Not as bad as I thought ( a little "Gray Goose" at lunch helps  )). Will be testing certain parts when I get home this evening Will take photos of the board prior to mounting the "mini-p...

Ok, however, I'm at work today (I'm the "facilities mgr." for a major art museum in the midwest (S.E. BX Peltier cooling!

Hey guys! Just saw the "mini-petier" that I have been using for years on eBay for the first time in a long time (BX active cooling), $4.99 USD. This thing "rocks", and no, I have no connection with the seller. 1: remove "greenie", use Arctic Silver, reinstall "greenie", strap "mini-peltier" to "gree...

PIII mods (one more time)

Ok, I've desided to step back into the "fray" as it were, I'm modding my 3rd BP6 as we speak. However, I'm stepping more into the "mire" if you will, this time I'm using a "ver 0.41"board (got it dirt cheap on ebay $19.00 + shp & h). So far, I have done the "EC-10 mod", changed out the Q6 regulator ...

Yeah, I know, but I did make it on my first BP6 to PIII conversion, maybe I'll get lucky again. If not, I'll be satisfied with dual PIII's stable at 100 fsb.

No, sad to say, I didn't even know the affinity filter existed at the time. Once I finish my "new" BP6, I will be using it to try to resolve some video editing and capture problems that I am having by using the affinity filter. "NEW" BP6 dual 1100/100/256/1.75 @ 110 FSB (I hope  ) 768 meg PC13...

If I read the last post correctly, your looking for a way to direct the work to certain CPU's? the answer is "yes" there is a way it is called the MS Affinity Filter. I stumbled across this when struggling with my old CBLive 5.1 Surround Sound system and the fact that Creative did not support WIN2K ...

Ok, I just finished digging back through my "archives"(hand scribbled notes from over 5 years ago) I ran a 366 and a 466 together on my bp6 and then ran dual 366's (not over-clocked) through both SISandra and several units of SETI. The results showed no difference! However, when I tried to ov...

Don't know if this helps but according to ABIT, if you run different speed Celerons' "the BP6 will only run at the speed of the slowest Celeron mounted on the board".

BX chipset max cache accepted?

I read or heard some where that the BX chipset will only support up to 512 meg of cache? True or false? The reason I am asking is that I just completed my second PIII modded BP6 running dual 1100E's (1100/256/100/1.75V) @ 110 FSB. This board is at its' max potential and then some (all caps replaced,...

I have found over the years that the best combination (at least for me) with win2k and a ver. 1.0, rev. 0.40 board, dual 366's stable @ 584 has been the "modified RU BIOS with PIII micro-code and the HPT 1.28 BIOS", this combined with the 1.25.2 drives provided me with a perfectly stable system. Almost forgot! Do you have any PCI card in PCI 3? Remember, PCI 3
shares IRQ 11 with the HighPoint ATA66 device.

Dumb question, but I once had the exact same problem. It turned out to be a cable problem! I actually had an 80 wire cable that had the ends wired backwards! When I put the "blue" end where the "black" end was supposed to be every thing worked! I'm sure its not the same problem but did you try a dif...

Look around the base of the caps. Look for dis-coloration, brown or amber fluid, are any of the caps "leaning" insted of straight up and down on the board? Sometimes you just can't tell. I had a VP6 that was new and still in the box (new-old stock). I bought it off ebay as-is $15 USD. It wouldn't ev...

Correction, sorry, I had a "brain fart" (old age I guess  )

Firewire card was in PCI 2, not 5.

Couldn't get SBLive to "play nice" with anybody else (I also hate Creative  ) their drivers suck!

I still would suspect the caps. They do not have to be bulged on top to be bad and since you said that this has been getting worse over time, caps or Power Supply are the most obvious. OBTW, AGP slot and PCI 1 share an IRQ PCI 2 does not share with any other slot PCI 3 shares IRQ 11 with highpoint A...
