Sheesh you guys, come on, we are all here to help each other. I speak as an "older" person (60+), I love this forum and will do anything to help people reach their goals (BP6) or other wise. Just a comment from an "old fart" , maybe I'm taking things the wrong way but I think some times "egos" get i...

Word of warning, do not get just any caps, need to be 8mm in dia. or you may have a problem with the CPU heat sink fitting over theZIF socket! I am using the largest heat sinks that will fit on the BP6, GlobalWIN FEP-32's and I have to gently bend many of the caps off to the side for my FEP-32's to ...

Yep,

Its' Mozilla.com. I timed it at work on a T1 line and here at home (dial-up) and just getting into this web site it seems to be about twice as fast and I don't get that nagging "hange" when I post a message here anymore (so far at least).

Very interesting!

I switched over to Firefox when I got home and at the same time I moved the USB connection from a hub directly to the BP6. Guess what? I'm sitting here at 583 as I write this! Very interesting, lets see if it holds for the rest of the night. Oh, h---, I'm going for 594, be right back! Regards, jaybird

Possible modem issue

I just pulled a "brand-new" 56K Conexant PCI modem from my new "toy" at work. Gateway P4, 3.2 gig with HT, 2 gig of ram, 200 gig HDD, 128 meg dual-hd vid card, 7.1 surround sound, dual burners, one is a new dual layer DVD. This is one of those MS Multi-media "Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005". I...

I don't think it's the NIC card as the drivers are not even loaded. My modem is an external USB Best Data 56K modem, not sure how it could cause a problem but its' a thought. It has locked a time or two while attempting to dial at 571 or 584, might need new or updated drivers? I have not tried anoth...

Johnny5's last set of "Dylithium Crystals" hit the

Ok, I now have a baseline on multiple Celeron CPU's on one mildly modified Ver .41 BP6. I have lapped and matched sets of: 366's, 400's, 433's and 500's. All hit the "wall", stability wise at about 581 to 583 or so. I have gotten the 366's to 605, 400's to 600 and 500's to about 650 but not stable. ...

problem with mbm 5?

I have been using mbm 5 and for some reason it is showing only 1.6 volts on cpu 2? In the BIOS it shows 2.1 (adjusted on both cpu's) also, when ever I over clock above 100 FSB the fan speeds are WAY off. I don't care about the fan speeds but I am concerned about the cpu voltage. I'm assuming mbm 5 t...

Hi Jordan, Could you please give me the "S" codes and other data on your 400 Celerons? I have a pair of 366's stable at 583 right now (106 FSB) , they will go 594 and even into windows at 605 but not stable. FSB is not an issue for me. However, I need all the CPU speed I can get and so far yours see...

16 bit ISA under win2k?

I have a BP6 network conflict. All PCI slots except 5 are full. When I try to install any 10/100 NIC in PCI 5 I have a conflict with any PCI card in PCI 4 (PCI 4, 5 and ISA 1 share IRQ's). I can install a 16 bit card in ISA 2 and under win98se I have no problems. However, I run dual-boot, 98SE/WIN2K...

Question about XP Media Center Edition 2005

My boss just bought me a Gateway 2.8 Pentium "D" machine, 1 gig of RAM, dual layer burner, etc., etc. Nice box :D !

In Task Manager, shows "dual" (dual core) cpu's.

My question is this, can I "upgrade" my BP6 with this version of XP and will it "see" true dual cpu's?

I used GE clear silicon sealer (good to 400 Deg. update, 01-16-06, back to 366's @ 104 (for now)

I went back to the 366's @ 104, quite stable, really! I wanted to do a complete system burn-in so I tried something new (at least for me). I ran CPUBURNIN and BURNIN by Passmark at the same time. Both CPU's went to 100% and it used 600 meg of ram while also running hard drives, floppy drive, and all...

Update! 433's @ 604!

Well, I guess the 366's @ 572 (104 FSB) are still tops if FSB is your goal. However, I now have 2 433's @ 604 but I don't like the 92 FSB. They will not go any faster  Next will be a lapped pair of 500's ( I don't expect much because of the multiplier). I am still going to try dual PS's, a 300 ...

I agree totally! That is why, even though I can boot and do some work @ 583, or even 594, I have chosen to back down to 572 @ 104 FSB. This seems to be the "sweet spot" for this system. 572 @ 104 FSB and 2.10 volts is "max" for this board and CPU's, period! Still, not to bad for what I've got to wor...

No, I don't think all celerons can go to 100 fsb. However, that said, I do believe we can ALL achive better overclocking with a few (under $20 USD) mods, thats all I am trying to prove. To date, I have taken a board that was not stable @ 100 fsb and made it stable with 366's @ 100. I have by lapping...

I couldn't get past the 100-102 thing so just for "grinns" I stuck in the 2 original 366's that I thought I had "cooked" when I had left my 72W Peltiers on and no fans (other board). Guess what?
