426boone, im kinda new here and really new to BP6ing. NOT exactly new to IDE drives though. from some study on the topic the hpt66 is a bad thing. well if you don't mind the risk of scrambling your harddrive forcing you to reload everything then it may be ok to use. it looks like maybe kuun and the ...

yup, practice is half the key.
the other half is having someone better then you to roast you until you become good at it. youd be supprised at the source material you can come up with when you are trying to one-up your buddy.

Derek, If you made a video clip, it is doubtful that any of your friends would: 1) steal it 2) post it to the net inviting others to offer insults 3) even consider embarrassing you 4) have 20 bucks, not to mention millions to be sued for. Maybe they could sell their BP6 to raise the money if you car...

yippie kuun is good. for those of us that don't know how...how can one set that up. i usually get lost going any deeper then setting tcpip address on my peer-peer net at home. Win98 2 units, XP home 1unit, 2000pro on my BP6. ummm, also my "security test" post wasn't to get people doing bad stuff...i...

Try this security test. I am curious(surely others are too) as to how easy it is to do this. Whoever has a wireless setup and a laptop take it on the road, well actually just into populated areas, and see if you can reach the net via someones home wireless network that is poorly secured. I read an a...

Hi to all. My 3rd day since joining and posting again. That capacitor issue is interesting. Looks like BPSixers that are just now replaceing the caps are the luckiest. At least 4 ways to fix their boards. 1) Pay someone else by taking it or sending to a shop that charges. 2) Pay for a capkit and do ...

I have to many irons in the fire to check out the Athlon1700/Gigabyte.

I am wanting to populate the BP6 with 768meg of ram. Maybe there is a trade in there somewhere.

Were you interested in the AMD 300mhz mobo/cpu for the SETI rack?

Hey, No one said anything about networking speed on this thread. That was kind of suprising since the BP6 is an OC wonderland. I have been going to the school of hard knocks for the last 3 years on this stuff so I will try give a few lessons I learnd. If Im wrong on anything someone let me know. 1 H...

I was AMD all the way due the huge price advantage...until my last system. AMD 1700XP on a Gigabyte board. Always high temp and usually flakey. Even after I slowed FSB from 133 to 120. Gosh, I just realised...I replaced an AMD 1700 with my BP6 dual 500 celery.

I still love my K6-III 400.

My first posting on ANY forum. I have been interested in a dualie for a couple years but budget was not going to allow it. I even considered a socket5 pentium dualie for a little while, they wanted $250 for it. I setteled for a PPRO for my birthday last year, a gift from my wife off eBay $60. What a...
