Oh BTW- Has anybody ever experienced quad-pentium PCs before? I'm talking original pentiums. I've never seen one but heard they existed. They sound outrageous. I wonder if a quad slot-1 system has ever been made... I've got 5 or six extra slot-1 celeron 333s just lying around... When I first got in...

My first was a Sinclair ZX Spectrum with the tremendous 48kb memory, dead flesh keyboard, built in basic instead of command line interface, a tape recorder for storage and the TV for screen. Mine was the TI99-4A with 16Kb.(the rest was the same as yours) People may laugh at the specs but truth of t...

Yup, thats about the time. I wrote this HUGE program in basic. It was almost 4 k. I couldn't imagine anyone ever writing anything that could use even 256 k of ram for anything other then a ramdisk.

yup. Exceletn chance. Make sure you put greese under the "greenie and a fan on top of it.

Also make sure you are using PC-100 or PC-133 ram. You may need to start at 2.1 volts on the cpus but avter a few hours you can probably drop that back. Many of us are running dual 366@550 at 1.9v or less.

jordan162055, you wondered about mods and such and want 800Mhz. First, you really MUST do something about the caps. There are several threads on caps here. You can even come up with some "free options. (let me plug my own work here) http://www.bp6.com/board/viewtopic.php?t=2706&highlight= The BP6 do...

raid0 or raid 1.
Raid 0 is a strip set with greater speed as both drives share the load equaly.
Raid1 is a volume set with slower speed because one drive is totaly filled before the other starts to fill.

Thrakath, First let me say welcome to the board. Next...take a look at your capacitors bofore proceding. They should be standing straight, no bulging and no brown goo on top or bottom. If you are running 500s you should boot at 66FSB and see if the system shows them on the POST screen. If both cpus ...

Here in the USA we are all very proud of and feel the pain for Michelle Kwan. It takes a great person to have pushed for a lifetime and then willingly step down with the GOLD so close but accepting it is just out of reach.

on common boards you have 2 connectors (4 units), and usually IDE1 is ATA66/100/133 and the IDE2 is only ATA33, 'cause most of the CD & DVD units are only ATA33! of course, on some you might find both ports with all ATA speeds...in which purrkurs advice is great... klik, Id re-consider before makin...
