It is theoretically possible to boot from a USB floppy drive, but I don't think the BP6 bios supports it (It rather predates the whole USB thing in the mainstream) There's no SCSI flpppy afaik, as there's absolutely no point. What's wrong with the internal fdd connector? :P As an aside, do you *real...

Do you think the cooler on the EMU10k1 has made any improvement (stability, etc), when I used to have one I noticed it was rather hot, but I've since ditched creative and am now happy with my Yamaha SW1000XG :P so I can't test it myself.

Re: Newbie alert...

1) I need to make bootCD's for w2k and XP. Where can i find an .IMA file that starts boots up directly from the CD. I got a .IMA that boots up to DOS, but i rather have a bootCD that starts the installation aplication. (Nero wants an IMA file to make an bootCD.) Win2k/XP CDs are bootable, failing t...

I don't see any reason why it should, though I'm not familiar with the Voodoo 4/5 so I don't know about any specific issues. I'm running dual fine with a Voodoo banshee PCI and a GF256DDR AGP, been stable for years and never had a problem hardware wise. There are a few driver issues, but I think tha...

Personally I'd say get another soundcard - I haven't bought or reccomended creative to anyone for 6 years, ever since trying to get it to work under 2k with my bp6. I don't think I ever got the whole thing working properly...

I have a BP6 with a Netgear FA310, and a P90 with some kingston technology card. In addition I have an AMD 2200+ system (my brother's) and a Duron 800 (my dads). As a media server for videos and the like we have a second Duron 800. Both the duron systems I built and are Abit KT7 Motherboards, the me...

I have a feeling a friend of mine wrote a small program that controlled the fan speed with the temperature, I'll ask him for a copy when he gets back from holiday.

I'm about to do the same thing - the board has been going strong longer than any other I've owned (apart from my p90 which is still running and had an uptime of over a year until I had a powercut :() - and it isn't going to stop now. I'm planning on putting debian on it, as I have some (basic) exper...

Creative Drivers

Creative's win32 drivers are appalling. The card itself is quite nice, but conflicts with just about anything - mine tends to take out networking so that it complains the cable isnt plugged in when it clearly is. I have had several years of bad experiance with creative cards, and will never buy or r...
