Re: Got a package from Taiwan (Jackcon) today.
So did they charge you for the caps or not? Your not very clear on that.Tim_K wrote:A couple weeks ago, I emailed Jackcon in Taiwan and asked about getting replacement capacitors for my BP6. They emailed back and said it'd cost something like $70 with shipping, so I forgot about it.

I tried a Via-C3(800Mhz if I remember correctly) and discovered my Intel-366 OUT PREFORMED it noticably. Via C3s are great ONLY in situations where low power cunsumption or low noise(no fans needed) is more important then actualing processing power. Actually Dave, you couldn't run the one I have wi...

Re: Via socket 370 1ghz
...They are not SMP capable either if I am not mistaken. I would also doubt that they are a good upgrade. A GHz VIA C3 has often been described as powerful as a 500MHz Celeron... I really do agree with you. The C3 Processors are indeed weak in fpu, but a C3 750 takes only 12 Watts at 100% CPU load....

I tend to agree with you about only one side locking up. I'd have to see that to believe it reboot half the system, YA RIGHT! But I do have to say I've been pretty impressed with the P4 I built. I was pretty leary about a virtual processor. But I must say this thing has really impressed me. It reall...

I work in what used to be a card manufacturing shop. Now all we do is customer returns, but I do know a thing or two about card manufacturing. All we ever used was either two part epoxy or RTV to hold things in place. So you should be just fine. I'm not sure if I got his meaning about the attaching ...

Re: Dual CPU Via?
According to this page at Toms Hardware , VIA will be marketing a dual CPU ITX system in Q2. I personally wouldn't mind a very quiet dual CPU webserver... Well I hope you don't need much performance cause their chips suck! I got a Via C4 1.2 gig (runs at 800) and my old single processor 366 @ 550 w...

Only two comments so far but lots of questions and comments to respond to! I think you may have skewed the results a bit though by not keeping the ram the same. Billl, I seriously don't think so. The tests I ran are not the type that require massive amounts of memory, nor do they utilise memory (ot...

Made for an interesting read Purrkur. I think you may have skewed the results a bit though by not keeping the ram the same. You might have tried switching the ram in the two baords and then rerun the tests just to be sure. But your results pretty much prove out, whats been said many times, that in a...

Yes but let me explain futher. If I go to the home page for instance, and I'm logged in. It always sh...
