It sounds like you disabled ACPI in the BIOS. If you re-enable it, you'll probably have to reinstall Windows. Sorry I can't be more certain, I'm relying on my (slowly degrading) memory

atomoverride: I agree with you, I've been thinking about those P4 1.6GHz myself. They look like the "new celerons" in terms of overclocking. I'm keeping my BP6 with OC celerons because the outlay isn't worth the performance boost. Better to get a new MoBo. Also I love SMP. BTW, 2x550MHz Celerons isn...

Hello there Edwin, welcome to our playpen :D The fastest standard Celerons you can put in a BP6 in dual configuration are 533MHz original Celerons. Do not use the 533MHz Celeron II or faster if you want dual processors - it will not work. Are you familiar with the concept of overclocking? This will ...

Seriously though, I know it's a pain, but seeing as you have more than one problem, it's better to get it just right isn't it?

gabumon: Glad you're happy. The BP6 logo is nice isn't it? Miles better than that ubiquitous Energy Star logo. FYI, I used to run my 366MHz celerons at 550MHz, but since I upgraded to 768MB RAM I had to back off to 500MHz. But the extra memory is definitely worth the drop in clock speed. onelegdis: ...

DD: How is the attachments mod coming along that we discussed over at http://www.bp6.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=134&highlight= ?

Lots of people want that HPT366-less RU BIOS and I'd really like to be able to send it as an attachment thru the board!

Thanks mate.

I like the GlobalWin LAC08. The pushpins line up with the holes on the BP6, and its nice and flat and looks good. I've got Arctic Silver underneath. Before that, I had a Blue Orb, but it fell off. I lapped it and stuck it on my TNT2U. I would strongly recommend lapping the Blue Orb - mine was far fr...

When I had dual 433MHz Celerons I used to run them at 85MHz FSB with no problems.

I always use good quality components. I think it makes all the difference. No mods were necessary.

I now run dual OC'd 366MHz Celerons.

I've been using WindowsXP Pro since it came out, and have had no problems with it at all (apart from it's general sluggishness and bloat, etc). Sorry, it's just not possible.

Like I said, this is due to the hardware limitations of the BP6, and you'll never get more than 133MHz no matter what BIOS you use.

Are you overclocking? Many people found out during the time when memory cost ~$0 that if you fill up all your memory slots, you cannot overclock as well. This applies to many motherboards, not just the BP6. I found I needed to go from FSB 100MHz to 92MHz when I stuffed all 3 memory slots with 256MB ...
