service packs, what are those?
 Ok, I'll admit I'm a cheap SOB, I tried to download the "required service packs" but with only a 56K (37K max) dial-up available, over 100meg download doesn't work (I keep gettin disconnected at about 75 meg). Yeah, your more than likely right, I need the service packs :( Regards, jaybird

Dual 1100 @ 110Mhz update
Sorry I haven't posted the pics yet, been to busy! Since I my last post I fried my mini-Peltier ( left external PS on after shutdown, thank god I didn't fry my BX!). I am now in the process of interlocking powerdown and external supply! Oh well, live and learn. This thing has been rock solid since l...

Ok, I guess you all know by now that I just can't leave well enough alone  . Ya see, I found this here new "widget" on EBay(my wife has forbidden me to utter that name, let alone use my credit card on "IT") I have 4 optical drives and 2 hard drives on my BP6. I use this as a video editi...

Dual 850 PIII's?
It looks to me as if the 850/256/100/1.75 PIII's have the greatist potential for over-clocking on the BP6. Based on info found at www.overclockers.com cpu data base I see where they have gone as high as 157fsb! I know that going beyond 110fsb on the BP6 is a crap-shoot but I'm thinking that with my ...

here are my basic spec's
I have an early Ver. 1 board (it has the metal arms on the ZIF sockets). Replaced a 100 cap at EC10 with a 6.3 volt 1200 cap. Voltage requlator is an LM317T from Radio Shack. I didn't even try to remove the old one, I just clipped the leads, soldered 1 lead(ZIF sockets to my left) to the original co...

Finally! @ PIII, 1100/256/100/1.75's @ 110Mhz (1.21Gig!) It ain't purdy but it works! Using the mini Peltier that I found on EBay on the BX, 2, 72 to 95 watt Peltiers @ 12 volts mounted on air cooled FEP-32's (using dual ATX PS per this web site), cap mod and regulator change-out, I am now stable at...

Dual PIII's @ 1209
I have dual PIII 1100/256/100/1.75V on my Version 1 BP6 Changed one cap, one voltage requlator, added one cap in voltage regulator circuit, modified NEO 370's, added mini-Peltier-fan combo to BX chip set and slightly modified P4 CompUSA gorb knock-offs to cool cpu's. Rock solid @ 100Mhz fsb dual Pri...

mod for Celeron - NOT!
InactiveX, I wouldn't advise it! Its' not powerful enough or have enough heatsink mass or a large enough fan to handle an over-clocked cellerie! However, it is perfect for Northbridge chip-sets and thats about it. I figured for US $4.99 + S&H I did't have much to loose. On the otherhand I got carrie...

Mini-Peltier, 4 or 5 left @ US $4.99 + S&H
Goto ebay, item 3472133153. This is a photo of the top of the unit. Caution! Pelt is NOT potted (sealed). I used GE clear silicon sealer/glue (good to +400 deg. f.) to seal edges of Peltier. I am using two paralelled ATX PS (total 380 watts @ 18 amps) to power 3 Peltiers, two 72 Watt units and the M...

What is the best overclock speed (FSB) anyone here has gotten out of a Matrox G400 (any board, not just a BP6)?

Update,
Have located another PIII 1100.
As soon as I am able I will post picks of modified BP6 (please, don't laugh at my soldering skills - or lack there-of )
Will also post shots of mini pelt and modified FEP-32's (I hope!)

need more info
what rev board, what size power supply, type of ram, vid card, etc.,. You have not given us enough info to troubleshoot! I am running two (2) PIII's (1100e's @ 110Mhz) on a modified BP6. There should be no reason that yours is not running unless there are problems that we(and you) are not aware of! ...

Help! I just killed one PIII!
Well, it had to happen sooner or later. I'm never satisfied until I break something  . The 95W pelts proved to be to much for even the mighty FEP-32's. The heatsinks couldn't handle the load and I fried one of my 1100's. I'm back to one cpu (1100) and a GORB. ANYONE WANT TO SELL ME A PIII 1100?...

cheap added cooling for your BX chip set!
I hope that this is not old news, but I found an interesting little cooler on ebay and thought I'd pass along my findings. It is a mini-Peltier-heatsink-fan combo that will strap right onto your BX chipset heatsink. The beauty of this item is its low power consumption (2 to 4 amps max) and the fact ...

Update
I now have the gorb "clones" installed on my BP6 and as predicted they have substantially reduced the temp of the cpu's. At idle I see 87 deg f., as opposed to 107 to 112 deg f with the FEP-32's. Here is a case of bigger is NOT better. The FEP-32's were, and I believe still are the best air-cooled h...

Newer Is not always better! A tail of SMP and a BP6
I have spent the last two months almost full time trying to up-grade my system (I am layed off so what the heck!). I initially couldn't get my BP6 to respond to the PIII mods so I bought a Gigabyte dual 370 server board (stable but not very overclocker friendly). I could get my 1100/256/100/1.75 Vol...

dual PIII mods not stable
First, to answer your question(s): EC10 replaced, was 100 mf, now 1000, 6v. Voltage requlator replacement; used RadioShack LM317T (maybe should have used LM370T?). I just snipped the leads, left old regulator on board, + lead to 5v on main board connector socket, negative side of cap to ground plain...

Hey Derek!!!!
It was the friken powersupply all along! All my strange problems can be traced to the power supply! Not able to run dual on the BP6, stange shutdowns on the "new" Gigabyte (which still turned out to be a "bummer"). As I write this I am reformatting my drives on my BP6 at 1100, dual ! My PS was not "...

Could you please tell me what mods you used to make the PIII 1100E's work on your BP6? I added the modded S370's (cut trace), replaced the 1 cap along side of the 1st 370 socket, replaced the voltage regulator and added the cap to the +5 volt side of the regulator to reduce noise and added the singl...
