BP6 settings

Well, I tried the battery, it checked out ok. Then, things really got wierd! All of my registry settings became "invalid"(size of files reported as wrong). When I tried to correct using scandisk it duplicated all registry settings and filled up my "C" drive! My guess is a virus of some sort although...

HELP! my BP6 has lost it's mind!

It all started yeasterday when I first booted up. My PC could not "see" the "C" drive, listed it as a "PO1" instead of a UDMA4. I reset it in the "Soft-BIOS" and went on my way. Now today it won't retain any settings in the soft BIOS even after reset, save and soft-boot. Could this be the result of ...

PIII's and NEO S370's

Well, I FINALLY have my system up and running, stable, 1 PIII on NEO S370 in socket closest to the RAM sticks, and THAT was part of my problem! If you are using the stock NEO heatsinks(which, by the way, I don't advise), when mounted on the CPU in the socket closest to the RAM in slot one there is a...

continuing problems

I have now gone through a complete reload of both 98SE and NT4.0. Heat caused my system to become unstable and corrupted windowz files. WORD OF WARNING! Make dam sure you have good heatsinks and fan(s) on the PIII's! The stock NEO's are marginal to say the least and if you don't get them sitting squ...

Problem solved!

It seems that when I went to 124 my BX chip set got a little warm to say the least!(you should see blister on index finger :( ). I do have a fan on the "greenie" and thermal paste but I can see that that is not enough. Anyway, after I shut down and let it cool down I rebooted and all is ok(I dearly ...

PIII 1100E upgrade

Well, here I am in never-never land! Just completed conversion to 1, 1100E PIII CPU on my BP6! Haven't had much of a chance to document all that has happened yet, however, lots of interesting and strange things have happened so far! As we speak ;), I am at 110Mhz with 1, 1100E in socket closest to R...

I haven't published to much as to the BP6, however, I have just made a bios change that has made a big diffrence in FSB! Here is what was current on one of my systems and what I changed! Ok, this may only appeal to "locals"(Wisconsin) slagathor :) Why doesn't Rockford Illinois have a professional football team? Because then Chicago would want one to! Sound card problems

First of all I would like to say it's not so much the card as it is in understanding how it works on the BP6. Number 1, Creative cards are IRQ hogs, do you know that some use more than one IRQ? My Platinum used IRQ10 and 5 until I disabled the DOS simulation(yah, it's still there!) Also, they don't ...

to much ram?

I don't know if it has anything to do with it and I'm sure you aleady know this but BP6 can only support a max of 256 meg of ram per slot or a total of 768. Could the additional ram be causing a problem?

Just a thought :)

1100E and 1000E cpu's

According to Intel they only made 1100ES's (OEM chips only!)that are at 100Mhz FSB, the 1000E's are actually 1000EB's that are 133 FSB only, but again, regardless of stepping, ALL PIII's were/are SMP enabled!

PIII "s smp?

To the best of my knowledge ALL PIII 's are SMP enabled! However, the BX chip set is very heavely taxed when asked to run SMP at or above 100Mhz. Believe me I know! Once when trying to run my 366's at 110Mhz(605Mhz) I touched my BX chip set(with out extra cooling at the time) and promptly produced a...

Can anyone please tell me what a Pentium III 1000E is?

It looks to be a 1Ghz cpu with a 100Mhz front side bus. Is this correct?

I would like to know if it is SMP enabled.

800's and 850's w/100mhz fsb seem to be the most common. However, there is a 1gig 100mhz PIII(OEM) that is smp but good luck in finding them! Last time I saw a pair for sale they were $185 USD each!

I'v tried all that. I'm told that I must have the server service started but when I try to start that service I get a "not enough server storage available to process this command" error.

I can find nothing in my manual about this error.

What do I need to do to start this service, any ideas?
