OK, this Sunday coming (21Dec03), It would be nice to see some people in the Chatroom.

If you have a IRC client then point it to irc.bp6.com then join the#bp6 channel.

Then maybe the Sunday after Christmas (28Dec03).

Have you tried editing the boot.ini without using the msconfig program?
Maybe a repair install could fix it, there is a way to manually select the things it checks, but I’ve forgotten how you do it.

Just to clarify this, your computer is running in safe mode, and you want to know how to get it to boot normally? The normal way is to hold F8 I think when windows is booting and you should get a menu for which startup option you want. Off the top of my head I cant think of any thing else, as I've n...

God I would be faltered if some one chose a picture of my BP6 to try to sell theirs. Lighten up, it a picture. Yeah maybe John could have asked first, but then maybe you could have asked him to stop using in a better way. You worried people are going to think your BP6 is a slut because there are pic...

Yeah my 500's would also goto 600, but wouldnt post at any thing over that. Would run for maybe a week at 600 then crash. (depending on what I was doing, as it was pre EC10 being replaced so crashed at stock speed as well.)

Might give them another go some time now that the cap has been replaced.

I think the jumper is only used if you want the machine to turn its self back on after a power failure.
I think it is JP1, its up near the AGP slot I think.

No offence but I wouldnt expect a maxtor drive to be working in two years time. The 7200 drives have a habit of failing. A friend of mine lost I think it was four in one month. My brother bought a 120gb 7200 drive and it lasted less than six months. No offence either :-) but did your friend ...

What is the point of investing fresh new time in tired old surplus drves? If those clunkers are as old as they look, I hope they came free. I just got a new pair of Maxtor 80GB/7200/8MB drives for just over $50 Ea. - now they may not keep up with SCSI in a loaded multi-user/tasking senario, but the...
