I'd rather build my own usually. But if I have to pick a name brand then HP wins hands down.

I build my own.
Well sometimes I cheat and start with a barebones no-name...but home grown is the best.(My wife can get tech support from the manufacturer for free. HeHe)
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

No BP6s remaining
Athlon 2800
Sempron 2000
ViaCPU laptop with Vista.(Works great after bumping ram to 2Gig)
P-III 850@100

I roll my own. If I need to buy a laptop then I think IBM gets my vote.

All my PCs except my first 486 in 1993 have been self-built.

I have no idea what I'd buy if I was looking to get one pre-made.
Like BP6.com? Not a member?

Mine was 1994 (Pentium 90). I agree with your last statement.

My primary work system is an IBM Thinkpad. Would have it no other way. They are super.
For home I build what I need, ( and what I don''t need ) .

Yea I now have 13 machines running at home, with a new one on the way and one still waiting to be built. Not to mention the 6 just waiting for me to find a spot for lol. Oh yea and 3 BP6's looking for a place in all this.
