Computer shuts down
Computer shuts down
I have dual celeron 366 everything was working fine. I got a wireless nic and installed it. It started to freeze up. Figured it was driver conflicts, reformated HDD and reinstalled XP pro. Now I start it up and it will just shut down after a short period of time. Don't know what it causing it.
Have you since tried pulling the NIC? How long does the power stay on for?

I have tried taking it out. I have tried taking pretty much all the hardware excluding the video card and disconnecting all the drives. The running time varries. The more you try to run it the faster it will shut down. It acting like the processors are overheating and it shuts down. But as far as i'm aware they aren't. I also thought that it might me a conflict with XP but i tried to run the reinstall program and it shuts down during that also.

Also when it shuts down, i have to pull the power cord for about 10 sec before i can try to restart the computer

If you have bad or failing capacitors, they need to be replaced. There are several threads about this problem. It is not specific to the BP6 mainboard.jdfisher wrote:Which means i have to do what?

There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.
