WOL impossible ! (Wake On Lan)

Post by Jey »

Hello,

Sorry for my english. :?

I want to use the WOL on my BP6.
I enabled the RESUME BY LAN in BIOS.
I use a "3Com EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI ( 3C905C-TX )" with the good cable on the good connector (WOL, on the motherboard).

I use 2 softs (poweroff and AMD Magic Packet) for wake up my PC, but, nothing. The MAC adress is good. :(
WOL work on a other PC (other MB/CPU).

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
i have the same trouble. I use an realtek chipset and all correct connected.
I think normaly if PC are power down, then must be the LED at the switch burn.
AT me are LED off at both sides.
I think the network card dont have Power.
My english are not better...

In BP6 BIOS WOL is called resume by LAN. This might suggest that LAN card cannot start the computer from poweroff, only resume from standby.

Big ? though as I haven't tried that function.
Just bought BP6 to run my HT-Pc project.

I have the same problem- no luck waking it up from standby.

Tried a 3com 3c905cx-tx-M (managable), and a realtek; both work in other systems.

Cable is connected, connection led stays on, bios set to wake on lan etc.

It just doesn't wake up.

Would it make sense to try different bioses?

Did *anyone* get WOL to work on a BP6?
Run to the bedroom - in the suitcase on the left....
