I need some CPU helps quick!

Okay, I;ve got myself a BP6 running dual Celeron 400s.
I'm looking to get something faster for cheap, and have found a Celeron 800 MHz. I haven't bought it yet, and i am wondering if it would even work at all.
I've gone through a lot of the forums here, but not found an actual yes or no.

So could somebody just tell me if ONE CELERON 800MHz (100MHz FSB) will work in a BP6 - WITHOUT MODIFYING ANYTHING.

I just found some more info, and it seems the FCPGA CPU's need a newer board to work, theyre not backward compatible.
So, is the BP6 capable of using an FCPGA??

Woops, i found a whole thing about BP6 and celeron 2s.
Okay, so i have to get an adapter if i want to run FCPGA CPU's.

NO!
on BP6 board you can only use PPGA processore, and that means Mendocino Celerons in range od 300 to 533MHz...lots of guys use 366 overclocked on 550MHz, which is the fastest setting...

but if you want some mods done to your board...this is the best page for it...some gys here use Tual (one) on BP6...some use dual P3s...

but if you want dual P3, maybe you could get VP6 from Abit...on ebay it's about 100$!

Im with Klik...if you want more(and you sound like you dont want to do the work to modify) just get a board that can do more.

From your original post it looks like(if yur board is in good shape and using PC-100 ram) you can probably get up to 96FSB and have duals running nearly 600MHz.

On backwards compatability, some of the VIA C3s will work on both platforms...but you will be majorly dissabpointed with preformance.
