First thread not working RE: celeron voltage

Post by fazer »

I have decided against a single prossesor it was ironicly slower then my dual setup. well back to dual 546mhz

It was cool seeing it hit 600 tho, then freeze when i tried 608. temperatur was only 41 or so, i thought i shoulda mentioned that

somethings wrong, i saw hals post and appearantly hyper posted to, when i tried to post it said invalid session, and both posts are gone!!

this was an edit but when you replied i cahnged it to its own post, (seeing as how i wasnt talking to myself anymore)

well, gots a new plexiglass window for my case, it looks so cool, however. Cooling seems to be an issue now, as my dual 466 (lowered speed to inprove temperatures) is running at 59c+ ive lowered my voltage down to 2.00 the default. is there anything else i can do? Ive read that lowering the voltage below 2.00 is possible but what are the consiquences? any other suggestions? what should i get it down to so its safe?

I'm not buying anything, i might beable to dig up scraps around my room, so "go buy watercooling", or "buy a better fan" aint gonna work here

Ive lowered the temperature to 54c with an old Power Supply fan. somehow i dont think this is enough.

The only way to find out is to experiment. You can't do any harm to the CPUs by lowering the voltage. Just reduce it one step at a time and see if it's stable.

Voltage is at 1.9v Oc'd 500mhz seems stable enough and my temperature is at 60c as opposed to the 65c it was before. Today im getting a grill for my plexiglass itll help.

That's a pretty hot CPU. Are the heatsinks seated properly? How about using some Artic Silver?

yeah it is a pretty hot temp, im hoping this grill will solve the problem. see im using a Power supply made for a non-tower case (desktop?) so the fan for the PSU is on the side, facing towords the plexiglass. If i put a grill there then problem solved, i think.

oh and about arctic silver, i dont know, but some guys gonna give me some, i THINK its arctic silver, so i just have to wait for it.

any real heatsink compound will do

i've used stuff that is actually better than artic silver.. but it's not made for CPU's (or so they claim)

but for me it dropped my CPU temps about 5C

just by adding it

Well i have done a number of things. The voltage has been lowered to 1.8 and is stable at 500mhz. I have changed the case fan so that it is blowing OUT. and tommorow i will put in the grill. i have managed to lower temps to 56c . we will see how the grill lowers things tommorow. i expect to be in the mid 40's after this grill is in.
