Hi, I've just got a probably obvious question...
But, do the older celeron mobile chips run in the bp6?
I'm tempted to bring my bp6 back to life again and I thought using two mobile 500 celeron processors would easily run cooler.
I'm well aware that the 1Gig celeron cpu's are on a different formfactor, but are the older 366-533 mobile Celerons?(If they exist in the mobile form@66fsb)

I would think if they're anything like amd mobile processors, that they would just be drop in compatible, but the voltage would be much lower
the Vcc from it looks to be from 1.1 to 1.6V looking at the pinouts I don't think they're compatible or I'm not sure if they even fit, depending on what version of the mobile processor you have.
you can always try it out but no guarantees

If it ain't broken, mod it until it is

I am willing to try bring it back to life if it isn't to expensive to get it from you.Plax wrote:I'm tempted to bring my bp6 back to life again
Have you found a source for such chips? I did a very limited search that uncovered only one mention of any mobile cellys on ppga and some of them don't support AGP video. I even checked my favorite tomshardware.com but they didn't mention(or deny) the existance of socket 370 mobile celerons.
Sounds like possably much expen$e, BUT I bet they OC very nicely.
Probably the same OC limit all .25 micron chips have though.
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.
