How far can I push this ram......

Post by Slagathor »

I got 512 megs Samsung PC2700, it's supposed to run 333mhz, I just bumped the system up a little, and now it's at 358mhz.
I dont really want to fry it, and theres no heat sinks on it yet.

Any suggestions.....

The multiplier can only be changed if he unlocks them on the processor.

Put your clock back to spec speed, it may be showing 1900+ because you've overclocked to 1900+ spec speed.

Yep, you're right...

Running the bus up and keeping the CPU down a little will accomplish more then having a lower bus and hight CPU clock right??????

Or should I turn the multiplier up a little bit?????

The undiscovered country, this is fun........ :)

Do not lower your multiplier any more than you already have (10x). Try to keep pushing the FSB up now.

I tryed 155, it came up fine, I did a few timedemos of Q3 ran great.
Then was gonna try 160 and restarted, went in a set it, when it was about to post it kinda freaked out, I had to unplug it for a few secends then it came up fine.
I dont know if I should have upped the voltage on the cpu or what but I decided to run it like this for a week (if I can make a week with trying again) and see what happins.....

Most likely make it till tomorrow night.....heheheee
