I was told that the service pack, when installed on Windows 2000 Pro, changes the fonts in apps like MS Word and Project. Can anyone confirm?

I´m about to install SP4 on my 2K Pro. I´m using Office XP. I´ll have a eye on that issue if you tell me what to look for. Do the fonts look different? Other types etc.?

I believe some fonts disappear from the fonts list and other fonts that worked previously are now corrupt, etc.

I´ve postponed SP4 installation. Read too much about troubles other people had, and my system is running quite fine right now. Note that there are problems with some SP3 hotfixes and SP4:

Have installed SP4 now. No problems, everything´s fine. Didn´t notice any vanished or corrupted fonts yet, but I´ll keep my eyes open...

i run win2k with SP4

it is extremely stable..

i play games have 9-13 opera windows open at any given time

i do not use the fonts, and do not use IE

i also run seti 24/7 and several other misc programs

i currently have a 5week+ uptime record

only reason it was disrupted was due to me getting a new desk

i am currently back at 3weeks :)

Heya guys! Win 2k Pro with SP4 works just fine!
No probs so far. Only probs detected come from nVidia drivers but I think the latest version is ok. e.g. When opening control panel explorer.exe generates error.
New version won't do such thing. It's tested. So if anyone has an error like this try to download new drivers and stuff. Cheers!

sicsam,
welcome aboard.

I got WIN 2K PRO w/sp4 for my system when I first setup my bp6. Bad caps to start with, tried the HPT66, tried OC dual 500s. The OS seemed to work correctly and all the problems were hardware related.(500s don't oc a whole lot)

Since correcting the hardware problems, the system has been rock solid...um except I let a teenager use the system for her homework, internet, cd-burning, chat, and she has been able to scramble the OS thrice in 4 months.
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

No BP6s remaining

win2000 pro ain't a teenage activity ;p

Yeah this was a mistake! letting a teen using your p.c. with win2000 on it was a mistake. I let my small brother but he's trained! Haha! Something irrelevant now: What is the best version of BeOS and where can I find it? Is it worth it? Cheerz!

I have tried BeOS MAX personal edition 5

I liked the way it loked and it seemed to work fast, but then there you need time to get all those drivers and apps and get accustomed to it... but I think it is worth trying. I will try the next time I have time for it.
