Automatic shutdown

Post by guchiguchi » Fri Nov 28, 2003 10:06 pm

I have a few PCs with newer motherboards than BP6, which WIN XP autumatically shutdown the PCs. Can I do the same with BP6 motherboard with some modifications?

I’ll suppose you’re talking about the computer automatically powering down when you click shut down? If so, check out this thread: http://www.bp6.com/board/viewtopic.php? ... light=acpi

you can do it with no modifications

all you need to do is have APM and ACPI enabled in the bios when you install

also you need to jumper a jumper near the cmos (no not the CMOS reset jumper)

Which jumper is that? I never did any jumpers for automatic shutdown. Are you thinking of JP1?

I think the jumper is only used if you want the machine to turn its self back on after a power failure.
I think it is JP1, its up near the AGP slot I think.
