can someone tell me how to make Windows XP
200 % faster?

any registry hacks?

Turn off all the eye candy, then it is considerably faster......

Reinstall it. Windows gets bloated and weighs itself down.

200%? That´s pretty easy.

Uninstall it.

Install Windows 95.

Or BeOS.

OK, 2nd try... :)

Switch the XP "Luna" GUI off, return to Windows classic style. Taskbar grouping + auto hide off. Set all Desktop preferences to "optimized for speed". Turn off all animations + effects + cursor shadow. Turn off system restore.

I nearly said the same thing, then stopped and had a think.
Don't get me wrong here, I love Linux as its great, but I find that X is slower than windows when it comes to loading applications, and just general moving of windows etc. But I suppose this is greatly dependent on the window manager that is used. It could also be that my graphics card is old, but also some other things take a little more time as well, e.g. just browsing through files is slower than on windows.

Give it a few months and I'll get a new graphics card and see what things are like.
