no booting after update

Post by RoadRunner »

Hello,

I'm from Germany and have problems with my bp6.

sorry for my bad english.

i have made an bios update of the newest version ru.

the prog shows "update successfully" please reboot.

after pressing f1 system does not boot anymore.

no beeps, i put an isa card on it, but there comes no signal.

is the bios dead? what can i do? or is the board defective?

before i tried to update the bios the pc works fine.

please help

thx

Hello, RoadRunner ! Welcome to BP6.Com.

Review this link and try flashing your BIOS, again.

Hi,

thanks for the link, but the bios doesn't boot anymore.

Nothing happens, only the fan is running.

No signal to the monitor, no beep, nothing.

is only the bios damaged or is the board defectiv?

Hold down the INSERT key and turn on the power, that will boot with BIOS defaults.

If that fails, try shorting the CMOS discharge jumper (should reset BIOS to default settings).

It's the one labelled CMOS just below the bottom fan header (where the speaker and reset button headers are at the bottom right of the board). With the system powered off (and unplugged), put the jumper on the top two pins (2 & 3) for a couple seconds. Then back on the bottom two pins (1 & 2) and start it up.
