Loading WindowsXP problems

Post by hutchd2001 »

Hello Everyone,
I have a Abit BP6 motherboard and trying to load WindowsXP. I have not been able to get any Microsoft Operating System to recognize my Yamaha CD Burner or my Litton DVD player. Hence, I can't load Windows XP/2000 or NT. I have just updated the BIOS to RU and it works great. Both my 20GB WD Hard Disks are recognized. I have been able to load RedHat Linux and verified that both CD and DVD do actually work. Any suggestions?

1st suggestion, more detail.... ;-)

are your cd-roms plugged into ide0 / 1 or 2 / 3
they might not work on 2 / 3, especially if your highpoint controller is playing up....

did you set your bios to boot cdrom,c,a (you didn't say)

anything else I forgot ?
