Anyone remember Gentus?

I've run Red Hat, Fedora and CentOS on the 'P6.

For the worlds most popular ATM consider Ubuntu's Dapper Drake(6.06) with LTS long term support or their newer version 7.04. Ubuntu is a varient of Debian.

I have to admin a server at work with it so I have it loaded for dual booting with W2K Pro on one of my(see sig) AMD systems.

Ive found more actual books on RedHat then any other, and in fact I have 2 manuals on RH7 that Im useing for text when I need info.
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

No BP6s remaining

I just installed LinuxMint 9 RC on my aging BP6. Seems to fine. Currently, I'm trying to get the "restricted" nVidia driver resolution bigger than 640x480. The stock video driver came up in 1280x1024. Installed the "restricted" driver and it went to the DOS world. :)

Figured out what was causing this issue. My KVM. If I connected my video cable direct to the BP6, I can get 1600x1200 with Mint or PCLinuxOS or any other distro I try.

Using LDXE or XFCE desktops for lightweightness. Since BP6 will only support 768MB of RAM!
