Template for recording BIOS setups quickly.

Post by RRLedford »

Has anyone ever made a template file to use for recording BIOS settings?
Is it possible to pull the menu screens out of the EEPROM into a file.
SHIFT-PrtScreen can give a paper copy of whatever BIOS screen is up, as long as your printer is on LPT1/Parallel & can digest straight ASCII.
It would really help this forum to have a common template file to learn from & compare with our setups.

I'm not sure that any ports on the motherboard are initialized in the setup screen? It would sure be nice to backup those settings though! Maybe taking a shot of the screen with a digital camera would work.

SHIFT-PrintScreen is a H/W level dump of ASCII screen map to LPT1 (first parallel address found). It does work if you printer can take the ASCII stream & print the corresponding characters w/o a driver.
