I'm using the Nvidia GF2-Personal Cinema card-MX400/64MB with TV tuner in a breakout box. Plays DVD, TV, & records to hdisk. It works great with WinXP, once you get the right drivers installed! I can do TIVO-like recording + TV viewing in a window. I can play back recorded material at another PC via my LAN. This unit can be had for $89US. There is another new model that is a Gforce4/TI4200/128M for around $250US & uses the same TV box
RRledford, I have the same visiontek cinema card in my hometheater box, a duron 1100/asus a7n266-vm/256ddr creation. I haven't tried to record since the last build, but I also have win xp as the os and was wondering if you can give me any hints on this card on an win xp box.
What problems did you encounter? What drivers do you use. I just installed the visiontek cd and left it like that. I am going to go try to record right now. Late!
