Nero 7 Lite

Post by InactiveX »

I've recently been using Nero Lite.

http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST&f=80&t=69886

It's a stripped down version of Nero which includes only what I consider to be the essential features. It starts an awful lot quicker than the fully blown Nero, and I've had no problems with it at all.

There are two versions, Nero Lite and Nero Lite Micro. I use the latter, which is even more streamlined. Highly recommended.

You know, Nero seems to grow larger and larger with every update release.

This is a symptom of something that really bothers me. Companies like Ahead thinking:

"Right people. We've got to get a new version of Nero out the door."

"But Sir, all of our customers are happy with what they've got. They can burn CDs and DVDs to their hearts' content."

"Ah, screw that. We've gotta make 'em want it. I dunno, add a CD cover designer. A new SmartStart interface. Bundle in a few media players. Just convince people they can't live without it."

And so we end up with ever more bloated software which benefits us not one bit.

Wait, I should just get Vista and all that burning stuff would be included ! :)
There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

No BP6s remaining

Nero 6.6 works just fine for me...and it has the dual CPU/dual core support, so it works great for BP6!

I still haven't tried the lite version but every time I fire up the full version of Nero I think of this thread. What a resource hog!
