Firebird Web Browser

There's a (sort of) new browser in town. Firebird is a redesign of the Mozilla browser component, similar to Galeon, K-Meleon and Chimera, but written using the XUL user interface language and designed to be cross-platform.

I've been road-testing it on BeOS, and it's fast, with a lot of Mozilla's bloat removed. Pages render very nicely, it seems to do JavaScript well, and is stable so far. There is an in-built pop-up killer, and tabbed-browsing (which is a "must-have" once you've used it for a bit). Also the widgets look great.

does it work anything like opera? (if you've used opera)

tabbed browsing is a definately plus, javascript support is also a definate plus

i've used v6 v6.05 and now using v7

opera and javascript don't get along very well

so if firebird solves that

i want it

Firebird 0.6 shows the same issue there was with Mozilla on my system (W2K): It locks the taskbar when it starts, so clicking on the minimized windows in the taskbar doesn´t work and I only can access other applications via alt+tab. There is a second (minimized) window opened by Firebird/Mozilla, called "Netscape Dispatch Window", that shouldn´t be there AFAIK.

This is really annoying and it kept me from using Mozilla. But I have no idea what´s going on
