I have 3x256MB, but I found I couldn't overclock with stability quite so highly when all three slots were filled.

Are you overclocking?

I've found if all 3 sticks are the same then my system is stable, or if he 3rd one is lower than the other 2 then no problems .... or the system is unstable for me

I think the stability issue... - the reason is found.

It seems that BP& has one voltage regulator for both AGP and memory controller...

I found the data about that in an article about the AGP compatibility: old cards new boards and vice versa, though BP6 was not mentioned, nut it was mentioned the problem symptoms and that it is particular to Abit and ASUS boards...

Trying a power supply that produces enough current for the Memory and AGP circuits is another possible solution to this type of problem.

yeah, first is to try the PSU - it is easier, but then if it does not help, so the voltage regulator remains... by the way, maybe someone here knos exactly which is the regulator for the current for the memory and AGP?

Check out this site. There are several voltage regulator modifications for the BP6 on this site. I can't remember if there is a specific modification for the memory and AGP (I think there is).
