AGP 1x/2x - 4x/2x

Postby roycroft-squires » Sun May 06, 2007 11:28 pm

My BP6 says it supports AGP 1x/2x cards, but the cards I can find are saying they run at 4x/2x. Will these work?

Assuming the cards will work at 2x, what is the fastest AGP 2x card available? Is it better to just use a PCI card?

My real computer is an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe with an AMD 64 3800 processor...

don't check the speeds, check the version of the AGP:
AGP ver1 (&1.2ver) are 3.0V which has the AGP 1x & 2x speeds...
AGP ver2 is 1.5V which has the speeds above AGP 4x...

the main thing is to check the voltages for the video card!

the fastest AGP 2x cards are Radeon 9XXX versions or nVidia in same rank...try to find the one that will work for you!
