I have 3 366s and a matched pair of Win Global fans if you want them. I used them on my BP6 at 100FSB until we moved and my young and beautiful bride told me to loose most of my extra stuff. She needed more packing space for her shoes. Um, Im in the Houston TX area. Where are you located? If its che...

Just realized I haven't been here for over a month. Haven't seen most of the posters in this thread in a good while. Of course the X-man has been most active recently.

My BP6 was at my in-laws and something in it went bad other then the caps. It has been relinquished to a scrap heap.

Havent been around for a while. my two cents worth... I wouldn't risk the fan headers on the mobo like that. Instead you could use the molex and re wire it for 5volt max instead of 12 volt. Or use the 12v for power and the 5v for common resulting n 7volt. You probably already thought of all that tho...

Raffnix is correct. The fastest is the FV524RX533. the last 3 digits state the speed of the chip. The chips are that dark color and have the large silver colored block. Last time I checked they were dirt cheap on ebay. (didn't look today) WOW dual 300s? After you make sure it works at 66FSB, just fo...

"same Geek value but modern"

That says it all. Un fortunately PCs have gone the same route as the automobile. The back yard mechanic can't do nearly as much to them any more.

1st, Welcome to the board. Sorry for the slow reply. Most of us don't monitor BP6.com as closely as we used to especially on Holiday weekends when a Hurricane is bearing down on New Orleans again. First thing to do is look at the capacitors. Are they all standing straight and in order? If they have ...

Sorry for chiming in so late... I agree with onelegdis on Vista being the industry standard, at least for now. Sure. Use the SETVER command in your Autoexec.bat. Um, on second thought that probably works only on DOS. FWIW, I just opened a DOS window and ran VER For XP-home-OEM SP2...VER reported 5.1.2600. For 2000 Pro SP4...........VER reported 5.00.195 If you have the software try it. I Googled Poloride My ...

You can flash the bios to one that doesn't hit the HPT366. I did that on one of my boards(when I still had one) and it worked ok. Some software still found it though.

BTW, Have you tested the Maxtor8gig on something esle to verify its ok. And why not move the CD to IDE2?
