running 2 instances in linux
whats the best way to run 2 instances of seti when in linux. What i do at the moment is to just run 2 command line instances with the basic "./setiathome" command. I have no idea how to assign each process to a specific processor. Is this possible/necessary? Edit Don't answer that! In a moment of ma...

I seem to remember when this came out a while ago, as far as I can remember, the spectra's don't support SMP, I can't really remember why as they're based on the Coppermine PIII core. I think it was probably in the old forum somewhere. It might be worth a search. Check the product page on http://www...
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I don't want to:!:  look what you've made me do, my keyboard's just shorted out due to the wetness If it wasn't that lightwave & matlab don't run on linux I don't think I'd even bother as I've just started getting Mandrake to work for me although it ...

Now I'm willing to accept the "It's your own silly fault for not installing win2k first" criticism but here's my dilema: I did have winXP installed & everything was working hunky dory until, I tried to use a lil' program called lightwave 3d which would last a good 10-20 seconds before crashing. Now ...

Yes, I think it should work but you will need a powerleap neo s370 adapter. I don't know the specs on that chip but I think you'll probably have the best chance of sucess if you use a chip that runs on a 100MHz FSB. To find a powerleap adapter in the UK check http://www.powerleap.com/ not sure where...

The multiplier depends on the chips you've already got. Take the rated MHz and divide by 66. should give you a whole or half digit multiplier, eg mine are 433's 433/66= 6.5 multiplier. Make sure you set this right and also disable the speed check alarm. As far as voltage is concerned, as low as poss...

and the old board seems long gone...? a side effect of the old board software apparently, Anyhow, the revision no of your board should be on a white sticker down the side of the brown ISA slot. I believe that the Rev. 1.1 boards (of which I have 1) are slightly more stable than the Rev 1.0 boards. ...

Auto Power down
I've got Mandrake 8.2 running on my machine next to WinXP & I'm begining to really like it now I'm begining to find my way round (primarliy due to the girlfriend never stopping playing the games on it). On thing that really bugs me is the fact that it won't power down on its own. It goes through the...

Not really sure what value it adds to the forum. I mean I'm not against it but I don't know how often I look at the post count/title of the person I'm getting a reply from/is asking a question and use that to decide how much I believe their answer. I tend to give it a go & see what happens. You get ...

Cheers Wolfram, were the temps much lower with the supplied fans? When I clock my 433's to 533 I have to bump the core to 2.2V to be even slightly stable & that has taken my temps up to 55ºC, although it has been really hot here the last few days when I hit those temps. What I want to know is whethe...

Has anyone tried or heard anything about these things? They seem to be scatered liberally round the web and are quite cheap. I wanted to know if this is because they're rubbish. I was looking at some of the APSK-0166 ones to go on my BP6.

Win2k & WinXP together
Oh, first post in this section. Sweet! 8) I've got WinXP installed on my BP6 but I've never really got that used to it, I think I still prefer Win2k  Now I've got a copy of 2k back in my grubby mits I've tried to install it from within XP but it won't let me! If I try to install it from a boot...
