Have you tried each stick of RAM by itself to see which one can be set to 2? Do you know if either stick can be set to 2?

Oh I see. So the claims of people getting over 900Mhz is not true huh? What about cooling? Is it possible to stabilise your system by improving your cooling and not resorting to modifications? Over 900Mhz sounds like Celeron II's or Pentium III's. Cooling will help some but will not address any typ...

Sorry about that... The top end for the original Celeron's is about 600Mhz to 624Mhz. On one of my BP6 systems, I have dual 366's O/C'd to 110Mhz FSB (~ 605Mhz for the Celeron's). The system locks up randomly. So, I will be doing some modifications (replacing voltage regulator capacitors, first) to ...

ATI Radeon 7500 All-in-Wonder. Has 64MB of RAM on it. Goes for about $112 (US), right now. It does DVD, video capture, has a cable connection and TV tuner.

If you are willing to modify your BP6, you may get up to, between 110 to 124Mhz FSB. This could involve voltage modifications and/or capacitor replacements. The "tall" voltage regulator capacitors around the CPU sockets.

You can go a couple of different directions. Get a pair of 366's and overclock to 100-110Mhz or you can modify the mainboard and run a pair of PIII's 850Mhz. Once you decide which direction is best for you, we can help with the particulars.

Explorer.exe is the process that manages the Windows system. That is the Start bar, desktop, etc. If explorer.exe crashes, then you won't be able to access your desktop. If this happens in 2000 then a new explorer.exe process is usually started automatically. Check your Event Viewer. You may want to...

That's great news, g0fvt! I got an email back from the capman indicating that he is repairing more mainboards than ever. BP6 mainboard repair is $55 (US). I'm saving my pennies and will be sending one of my BP6's to him.

Will keep everyone posted...

Won't tell you what it costs per month but its cheap (I work for Alltel)! My Alltel ISP service is free. :D
