I am planning on building something like that for a workstation to replace my dually P3 700.... though maybe a bit less nuts on the SCSI drives. :P

.. and I'd picked a Supermicro board instead of a Tyan. Though Tyans are nice to, having owned a Tyan based comp too. :D

Will this be an SQL database server by any chance? If so, I'm wondering how many SCSI controllers & individual arrays you plan to use.

There will be some kind of software used with unigraphics for file storage of specific .prt files (part) and stamped with revisions for part management so people know what has been worked on etc..

2 controller cards will be used but we have not decided which arrays to build how where and what.....

More details to come

HT gives you four processors! WAY KEWL! I wonder if there is any performance hit when using HT as compare to non-HT. Will two physical processors and two logical processors crank out more than just two physical processors? It should but it would be interesting to know real world results. :)

Yup, that's the right one.

You can edit out the bad link in your previous post if you'd like.

Sweet server by the way!!
