So check this out. I transplanted all the guts of my BP6 equipped machine to a smaller case. Mobo, drives. PS, everything. I go to power the thing on, and it will not recognize the CD and DVD drives I have in there. All was fine in the old case. I tried the CD drive on the primary chain, secondary, HighPoint. Even tried a Promise card.
HighPoint will see the drives, but won't do anything since no drivers are loaded. The Promise card will see the drives, but won't do anything either.
My BIOS battery is dead, but I set the CPU speeds and all that back to the right place.
Linux boots fine from the hard drive, but no dice as far as CD and DVD drives.
Thoughts, anyone?

UGH! I FEEL LIKE SUCH A NOOOOOB!!!
I looked at the bios setting for the 65,535th time, and finally noticed I had all drives except the primary master set to NONE.
I'm getting a rash. I'm growing a tail. I need a vacation.
