Posting about my 486sx made me realize I've owned nearly every cpu/mobo since the IBM pc was released in 1981. I never got a P-4 level system as I switched to AMD. Also never had a Tandy 2000, which was about the only mass produced system using 186 cpus.
Most of these were owned well after their prime. I got most of them as barter for doing upgrade work on someone elses system.

There are *almost* no bad BP6s. There are mostly bad caps.

i think my dad would kill me if i had so much boards at home...'cause as i write this:
1. BP6 is writing you this
2. DFI mbo with 1,2GHz Tual is the number2 computer - for downloading & working in CATIA
3. on the other side a GIGABYTE mbo with dual ATHLON is waiting for RAM...NOT WORKING YET!
4. unter the table there is VP6 board waiting for HDD...NOT WORKING YET!
5. on the cupboard there is a INTEL mob with P3@600 Katmai, waiting for a better case too put in for my sister...
6. in sisters room there is INTEL mbo with P2@300 Klamath running WinXP...just enough for the writing essais and working in Word...
any more of the computers and Dad would kick me of the apartment!

What kind of ram does that Gigabyte need with the Dual Athlons? Would those be 1600MP Athlons?
Do you have ram and CPUs on the VP6?
