Don't want to pee on anyone's fire, but it seems to me that the latest lander is sending the same sort of pics that we had in 1976.

Can this lander take any soil samples?

Call me suspicious, but this sounds like one of Dubya's ploys to get re-elected, coupled with NASA's attempts to get funding after the shuttle disaster of last year.

I'd love to be proved wrong, though.
