dual celeron 500's @ 600mhz
7.5x multiplier @80mhz FSB - system stable under BeOS (with hlt enabled) and under windows XP (with CPUIdle) - temps under load are 36 degrees C and 39 degrees C. ;o)

more system details
Hi Derek . . . here's a bit more info about my system - still running at 600 by the way ;o)
here's the cpu specs for a kick off:
CPU #0: GenuineIntel
type 0, family 6, model 6, stepping 5, features 0x0183fbff
Instruction TLB: 4k-byte pages, 4-way set associative, 32 entries
Instruction TLB: 4M-byte pages, fully associative, 2 entries
Data TLB: 4k-Byte Pages, 4-way set associative, 64 entries
L2 cache: 128 kbytes, 4-way set associative, 32 bytes/line
L1I cache: 16 kbytes, 4-way set associative, 32 bytes/line
Data TLB: 4M-Byte Pages, 4-way set associative, 8 entries
L1D cache: 16 kbytes, 2-way or 4-way set associative, 32 bytes/line
CPU #1: GenuineIntel
type 0, family 6, model 6, stepping 5, features 0x0183fbff
Instruction TLB: 4k-byte pages, 4-way set associative, 32 entries
Instruction TLB: 4M-byte pages, fully associative, 2 entries
Data TLB: 4k-Byte Pages, 4-way set associative, 64 entries
L2 cache: 128 kbytes, 4-way set associative, 32 bytes/line
L1I cache: 16 kbytes, 4-way set associative, 32 bytes/line
Data TLB: 4M-Byte Pages, 4-way set associative, 8 entries
L1D cache: 16 kbytes, 2-way or 4-way set associative, 32 bytes/line
Then, after that we have stock intel coolers on the cpu's, a 486 fan on the chipset, an intake fan on the front of the case and an exhaust at rear - also got one of those PCI slot exhausts under the video card.
Video card is nVidia TNT2 m64 32mb
256mb RAM
hard drives: 60gb IBM deathstar
20gb Seagate
5.6gb Quantum
Temps have fluctuated a bit since I first posted - currently I am running distributed protein folding client in the background - that accounts for half load on each cpu so I'm not flat out - temps are currently:
cpu 01: 37 degrees C
cpu 02: 40 degress C
system: 46 degrees C
Might try going to 83mhz fsb soon but I'm a bit concerned about raising the PCI and AGP buses any further - all advice welcome.

bit more info . . . . .
Hello again - thought I'd run the system flat out for a few hours and see what happens to the temps. So, I booted into beos and ran two copies of Distributed Protein Folding Client. Both processors are flat out - the temps in the last section of the summary below show what happened;
Temps under BeOS (with hlt enabled)
cpu 01: 27 degrees C at rest: 36 degrees C under half load:
cpu 02: 28 degrees C at rest: 39 degrees C under half load:
system: 33 degrees C at rest: 42 degrees C under half load:
cpu 01: 45 degrees C under full load:
cpu 02: 49 degrees C under full load:
system: 52 degrees C under full load:

ah him!
hehe Derek - yep, I know him quite well ;o)
hey tom
how exactly do you have your system setup?
what vcore are you at?
what mods have you done?
do you have the EC10 mod?
i can get mine to run at 80mhz FSB with 7.5X multiplier but the dang thing doesn't want to handle a full load.. and on top of that.. i have to bump the VCORE to 2.2v in order for win2K to load

RE: 500's @ 600
Hi Kuun,
Sorry I haven't replied to this - I just saw it. I am running ThermoEngine coolers with Delta fans (speed controlled by a Vantec baybus) - I have had to drop back from 600 because the PCI bus gets all excited and my soundcard dies. Also suffered a few mouse lock-ups and intermittent problems with the ISA NIC.
So at the moment I am only running the 500's @ 540 (72mhz FSB) with a Vcore of 2.05. This is very stable - no problems at all under full load and all temps stay below 40 degrees C.
Not sure where to go to get me up faster again.
Suggestions welcome, I have another BP6 on the way as well with 2 x 533's.

tom,
i can handle 563 rock solid 1.95vcore (was at 1.9 but then it decided it didn't like that when the apartment warmed up
i use the 75mhz fsb
everything works great here
have had several week uptimes at 563mhz
and i get much better temps with my stock hesf's
i usually run anywhere from 34-38C full load (3 seti instances)
good luck
