Hi
I have 128 PC100 sdram - need to buy more ram and was going to get PC113 DIMMS will they mix OK ?
I would expect the 133's to run at 100 at best.
Am I mistaken here?
BP6 2x500 celerons
128mb 100
3x20gig maxtors HD (one pair striped)
audigy2 platinum
Win2k
mixing sdram PC100 with PC133

PC133 will run fine along side PC100 ram as the rating just tells you the max frequency the RAM is supposed (i.e. tested & certified) to work at. As you are unlikely to be getting the ole BP6 much near let alone the 100MHz mark you are well within the safe operating boundaries of the chips. From what I can see with your spec you quote I assume you're running the chips at stock speed so the ram will only be experiencing 66MHz.
One thing though, PC133 ram might stand a slightly higher chance of being the double sided ram that the BP6 doesn't support (see various posts concerning 256Mb ram showing as 128Mb).
I myself have 1x128 Mb PC100 & 1x128 Mb PC133 running in my machine and have had for quite a while now.
Hope this helps, if not do post again.

i have a question, i was running 2 256 pc133 sticks and a 28 pc100 stick of sdram and when i took the pc100 out, the computer instantly ran 4F lower than normal,
anything related to that?
also is there some kind of incompatablitiy with single sided sdram?
i have bought 2 sticks of 256 (exchanged one) single sided pc133 sdram and i cannot get eiher to register @ 256, they detect alone in the bios (one the single sided 256 chip) a 131MB (roughly in computer terms comes out to 28 (131/1.024)
anything responsible for that that anyone knows of?

As others have posted here - the BP6 does not handle "high-desnity" RAM modules & recognizes only 1/2 the memory when they are installed. The best indication of a 256MB module being "high density" is the RAM chips being located on only one side.
On pricewatch.com a memory search that includes "low density" will give suppliers who track & label this property of their RAM products. The deals look better for the high density RAM (less chips =>less $), but if it only registers at 1/2 the RAM it's no bargain.

I'm not sure about this ram problem, but I can reccomend [link=http://www.crucial.com]Crucial[/link] for buying RAM - I've never had a problem and they have a click through system that matches the ram to your motherboard to ensure compatability.
For the record, 128*1024 (ie 128MB in KB) is 131027, which is why you see that when the sticks are only registering as half size
